The resulting cottage industry collects gently used plastic bags and partners with local knitting artists who hand knit each of kristin j's one-of-a-kind totes and handbags.

Kristin Jordan is a real estate attorney who lives in the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband Matt and faithful dog Daisy. Mrs. Devers, the mother of a childhood friend, taught her to knit when she was 12 and she's been clicking the needles ever since.

kristin j is a woman-owned and operated company whose mission is to design and create simple, classic yet unique totes and handbags made exclusively of gently used plastic bags donated by family, friends and neighbors and hand knit by women in the local community. kristin j is committed to the concept of upcycling, or using waste materials to provide useful products for local use.
